Alan Stanley Clugston Obituary – Visitation and Funeral

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Alan Stanley Clugston, April 1 2025, in his 86th year, passing peacefully Into the arms of his Saviour with his children by his side.
Beloved husband of Sheila ‘Joy’ Clugston (nee. Graham) for nearly 63 years. Proud father of Barbara (Bill), Rodney (Lorna) and Heather (Perry) Wilkinson. Much loved grandfather of Matthew, Brad, Kyle (Emily), Cory (Steph) and Shalom. Great grandfather to Jovie, Alan, Maddison, Hunter and Carson, with 3 more great grandchildren on the way. Treasured brother of Anna (John) Graham, Lois (Ron) Evans and Hugh (Lorraine) Clugston.
Alan was a good and gentle man who always put his family first and offered unwavering support to family and friends. Son of Stanley and Lavina Clugston, Alan was raised on a farm on the west side of the Beaver Valley. Later he met and married the love of his life Joy Graham of Markdale. Together they moved to Toronto for their respective careers, his in banking and then as a Systems Analyst for the City of North York, until his retirement. His escape from the hustle of city life was to the family cottage on Crystal Lake where many summer memories were formed.
Returning to his country roots, he and Joy designed and built their dream cedar home on a 30 acre parcel of land north of Durham where he enjoyed many hours out on his tractors and making maple syrup. He continued his love of curling and woodworking, as well as singing tenor in many musical engagements and with the choir at Annesley United Church, Markdale. Dad will be forever in our hearts and we will miss him dearly.
Family and Friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, April 12th starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life Service on at 11:00 a.m., which will be held at Annesley United Church, 82 Toronto Street S, Markdale, Ontario. A light reception will follow.
For the Service, livestreaming will be available on the Fawcett Funeral Home website from ten minutes before the service begins.
