Sunday School

Here at Annesley United, our Sunday School program is in great need of help. Help in the form of:

Elementary school aged Kids  We need more of them; ideally with committed parents.

Fresh ideas/inspiration are welcome from all of our people. Maybe our traditional ways of doing are no longer viable.

Leader(s)  We need one or two persons COMMITTED to overseeing the realization of our vision.

*Volunteers  We need committed folks willing to help execute those ideas and support the leader.

Please join Rev. Kathy Underwood on Sunday Sept. 24 at 9:30 a.m. We plan an open conversation to discuss both the broader picture  and our specific needs as outlined above.

New to the Library: God: The Bestseller

What an awesome title for the newest book in the library. It is an awesome story. God: the bestseller is the story of Eugene Exman, a man who published the works of the controversial preacher Harry Emerson Fosdick, the Catholic radical Dorothy Day, the Civil Rights pioneer Howard Thurman, and two Nobel laureates: Albert Schweitzer and Martin Luther King. He also published the Alcoholic Anonymous classic known as The Bible. Ahead of his time in leading hungry readers through books on a spiritual exploration, he was a man who from a young age questioned and explored his own limits of spiritual understanding. Check it out in the library, which sits now at the back wall of Fellowship Hall. The library looks good there. Plenty of light and visible space to explore some of the best selections of church history, prayerful guides and stimulating historians.

Flower Power

Flower Power  Shhhh-“Mum’s the Word” (Chrysanthemums, that is!). It is time to bring the sunshine in again. Summer has decided to leave and autumn is ready to arrive with its gorgeous colours. Please donate a flower or a bit of money to the Flower Fund to welcome all our family back to the Sanctuary. With an abundance of fall’s beauty!
