Harriston Meat Packers Sale

Harriston Meats are Back! Hopefully the backyard grilling season will get an early start this year, and we want you to be ready! So, we are excited to announce that we will have an early Harriston Fundraiser. Thanks to them, our selling prices are unchanged from last year! Given the extreme importance of our fundraising efforts these day, we would strongly encourage you to increase your order. It’s frozen FOOD! You buy it anyway. Not just for grill. Also, we urge you to do some sales yourself. Ask a friend, neighbour or family member to help out. Include their order on your order form. Simple. Order forms are available below. Orders are due May 5th for delivery on May 10th. A final reminder for transparency: our selling prices are NOT those appearing on Harriston’s website. We have marked them up modestly to increase our margins. Remember this is a Fundraiser. Thank you in advance for your participation.

Car Rally!
Thank you to Stacy Hiltz (and her family and friends) for organizing the car rally on the 27th. Many, many hours were put in to making sure that the event went smoothly. A great time was had by all, and the rain didn’t get in the way. So much fun!
Coffee Hour
Coffee Hour Birthday Cake Sunday is so much fun ———and so fattening(but who cares about that ?) Mike did an awesome job serving and also surpassed expectations by wearing the celebration hat as he worked. Thank you to all who participated in the event and the donations were put to good use.
Another thank you goes out to our secret cookie donor for contributing to our dwindling supply of treats for coffee break on Sunday. I believe cookies are a separate food group and therefore essential to our wellbeing. Think about it. If you can donate treats from your kitchen we will be so very grateful but we also enjoy Mrs. Dare and Mr. Christie when they bake for us.
Thanks, Stacy for your help in the kitchen .
Flower Power
Mother’s Day is coming and I am asking ….do you remember wearing a flower to celebrate all the mothers in your world? It’s a really nice thing to do and so simple.

In the Library

The Great Emergence by Phyllis Tickle.
Rooted in the observation that massive transitions in the church happen about every 500 years, Phyllis Tickle shows readers that we live in such a time right now. She compares the Great Emergence to other “Greats” in the history of Christianity, including the Great Transformation (when God walked among us), Anyone who is interested in the future of the church in Canada, no matter what their personal affiliation, will find this book a fascinating exploration.
